Here is a quote from ANZ CEO in Australian paper 31 August........
"ANZ chief executive John McFarlane has unsettled investors with a warning about a more sustained fallout from the sub-prime mortgage crisis, as well as higher provisions and upward pressure on home mortgage rates due to more expensive bank funding."
Sounds familiar. Didnt somebody say exactly that a week ago. Oh wait...... I did.
