    Clubbed Australia a bit to hard - well what that actually means they have starved their own people of products that they had become accustomed to, even though they can source products elsewhere supply chains are hard to divert suddenly. There's also no doubt that the younger educated Chinese are less tolerant than the older generations who would submit without protest.

    China has an old man's syndrome, Xi and his followers want to control with old methods the way they grew up, it won't work in the new millennium. Time to Xi to abdicate because once China in on it's knees AGAIN the west will come in to clean sweep as they did in the 1900's.

    Loosing face is an old philosophy but it can't be jettisoned until the old guard of the CCP is removed. It will take another decade or so to achieve that possibly when Xi dies of old age. For Xi to survive in the interim he really needs to conduct some form of limited military conflict to show he has the muscle.
