China tried to get its Yuan put into the basket of currencies which are considered to have a special significance in the world but it was rejected for various reasons including instability and a lack of free market character.
Shortly after that the Chinese sold a bag full of US treasuries for US dollars of course and then bought the Yuan which pumped up the Yuan temporarily. They made money on the whole deal.
I cant see the Yuan or any other Chinese currency completely replacing the US dollar or any other currency for that matter.
I can see the Yuan slowly taking on a greater role in the world when dealing with China though in coming years.
That vid to me sounds like it is straight out of the state propaganda machine.
