For those of you, who don't know much about viruses, have a read of this.

    https://www.theage.com.au/national/coronaviruses-extremely-widespread-in-wildlife-trade-study-20200612-p5522i.html

"Humans are affected by a few hundred viruses; scientiststhinkthere may be about 1.67 million viruses circulating in mammals and waterfowl.

Some of those viruses – they don’t entirely know which – can jump from animal to human. Coronaviruses appear particularly capable of making the leap, with strains of the virus responsible for SARS, MERS and COVID-19."

There are over 7 billions of us on this planet.

There are bound to be a few viruses floating around in human beings which we have not detected yet.

You see, most people who get sick, naturally conclude they caught the common cold or Flu. They take a few panadols and rest for a few days.

Its only when they don't get better, they visit a hospital to be further examined by doctors. That is when new viruses are discovered.

Here is the history on Swine Flu from the US.

The cases of 2009 H1N1 flu in California occurred in the context of sporadic reports of human infection with North American-lineageswine influenza viruses in the United States, most often associated with close contact with infected pigs. (During December 2005 – January 2009, 12 cases of human infection with swine influenza were reported; five of these 12 cases occurred in patients who had direct exposure to pigs, six patients reported being near pigs, and the source of infection in one case was unknown). Human-to-human spread swine influenza viruses had been rarely documented and had not been known to result in widespread community outbreaks among people. In mid-April of 2009, however, the detection of two patients infected with swine origin flu viruses 130 miles apart, raised concern that a novel swine-origin influenza virus had made its way into the human population and was spreading among people

Yes, Swine Flu had been circulating within the US since 2005. It was NOT reported to WHO until 2009, when it became more virulent. Prior to that, they had 12 cases in 4 years!!!

So its more than likely with a world population of 7 billion people, you would have more than a few dozen unknown viruses circulating.
