Australian Broadcasting Corporation: The Australian government today announced a ten-year, 270-billion-dollar defense upgrade plan, including the purchase of long-range missiles because of changing circumstances in the Indo-Pacific region. Does China have any comment?

Zhao Lijian: I'll leave that to Australia. All countries should avoid an arms race and refrain from purchasing unnecessary military equipment.
