    Another way to look at this would be, the rest of the world could have taken Covid-19 more seriously as soon as they found out and lockdown at the same time of Wuhan, shut out all incoming passengers, but no, they/we all thought it was going to be okay. The US had 2 months to prepare for this, but yet, they squandered it.

    Maybe it was a matter of mentality that made the difference? Most Asian countries managed to contain Covid-19 because they realise how bad this could be, learning from past viruses like SARS. Whereas the Western countries just thinks these viruses will only affect Asian countries, it will never make it to overseas?

    Just look at what's happening over in the US now, people are refusing to wear masks, even though that can help in prevention and transmission of Covid-19, but no, they don't like being told what to do. Even in Australia, security guards at a Melbourne quarantine hotel was having sex with returning travellers?! Well... Natural selection at its best.
