    sort of true , but lets look at Japan in the early 70s , they improved their consumer products in the 25 years from the war to be superior to British and equal to American and European ie Pentax , Citizen watches , Datsun 230c /240Z cars , you just can not really see that sort of quality improvement in Chinese product .
    Couple that with their aggression in the South China sea and aggressive attitude with Australia, then Australian govt now has a duty to its citizens to now protect them with a high military spend .
    Buying from China looks like a good way to be getting the below negatives:
    1 an inferior made chalice
    2a poisoned chalice
    3 .a hidden cost similar to a tax to every person for buying that chalice as Australian govt has to increase its military spend to compensate for the aggression from China that is arming itself to the teeth
    4 An environmental cost to Australia as China pollutes the oceans and air with coal particles and the sea with plastic that it makes the chalice from .
    5 A potential humanitarian crisis with countries around China due to Chinese aggression that could impact Oz
