Most of he ones I worked with were Mormons by religion and were teetotallers. Our boatman was a Maori chief and kept them in line. We were on an Island with no pub and only a fortnightly delivery with supplies so that may have made a difference. We had our own barracks so we all lived together. Plenty of singing and I liked to hear the Maori voice. Great memories. Some of them had great stories to tell. I'd like to be able to go back in time. The young now will only have tales to relate about BOM, Codit19, Chinese aggression and the USA losing its way as a super power.
