And this lack of worldliness is compounded by the usual problem of Canberra's remoteness from the rest of Australia and also from the growing tendency of MP's themselves to be lacking in any skills that allow them to relate to the real world. I wonder how many MP's possess hands-on engineering, technical or scientific skills. I suspect the answer would be close to zero, which makes it hard for them to understand the question let alone phrase a cogent response.
