In June-July, price for potash fertiliser can raise to $700 pt, BPC predicts



In June-July the prices for potash fertilisers on the spot markets will increase to $700 pt, Oleg Petrov, the deputy director general of Belarusian Potash Company, told reporters in Minsk on April 1.

According to him, triggered by the deficit of the commodity, the prices have been rising faster than predicted. In autumn the prices on the spot markets can increase to $800 pt, Oleg Petrov believes.

Asked about the future contract with China, Oleg Petrov said that the price for the fertiliser for that country will depend on the time a contract is signed and the prices on the spot markets. “We will take into account the spot prices when signing a contract with China,” he said. At the same time he assumed that China could be given a discount as a long-term partner.
