Bell Potter has a "speculative buy" on Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX: NEU), registered in Auckland, New Zealand, and with offices in the US and Australia, is a clinical stage drug development company focused on drugs to treat disorders of the Central Nervous System. "NEU has raised $6.3 million via a placement to shareholders led by Lang Walker, its largest shareholder. The placement via issue of 70 million new shares at $0.09 a share will boostNEU's cash position to about $21.5 million based on reported cash at the end of 3Q15. This should provide cash runway into 2017 based on current burn rates and planned development activities for CY16 around the Rett Syndrome program. Key catalysts include results from the Phase II trial for Fragile X due to be released in December 2015 and results from the Phase II trial for TBI due to be released in early 2016."
