Farmed prawns producer Seafarms Group is in front of fund managers seeking a $24 million equity injection.
Seafarms shares went into a trading halt on Wednesday as its broker, Bell Potter Securities, launched the equity raising.
Seafarms was seeking to raise up to $20 million in a placement of new shares and another $4 million via a share purchase plan.
New shares were being offered at 9¢ each which was an 11.6 per cent discount to the five-day VWAP, according to terms sent to potential investors.
The deal valued Seafarms at $177 million on a post-offer basis.
The transaction also saw a debt-to-equity conversion of $3 million at 9¢ a share by Seafarms executive chairman Ian Trahar, subject to shareholder approval.
