You might get a better perspective by NOT looking at the daily poo fluctuations.
As for China, well, on the rapid path to industrailisation, can you tell me that their per capita oil consumption is NOT going to continue to increase?
The only place where you are going to get really significant short term consumption drop at current poo imho will be North America - as recent statistics already show.
