no we don't need any crisis to help SP, that will only hurt the SP. Crisis hurts economies, hurts demand/supply etc.
Only need to see what happened when oil was approaching 150 the world economies slowed dramatically.
What we need is steady growth of economies that keeps the demand/supply just off balance so that it keeps the poo around that 100 to 120 bbl, then it is economical to go exploring and developing new reserves, plus world economy keeps ticking over at a reasonable clip, inflation stays reasonable, which keeps federal resrves happy, consumers happy and CVN sp will take care of itself.
