Though am not a BAL holder I just wanted to reassure all holders that contrary to what the market is speculating the underlying business of BAL is continuing to perform very strong. From some Aztec Pharmacy Scan data displayed below, the business is still performing quite strong until the end of November. Now this is only a reflection of total global sales as Australian Pharmacy would only normally represent about 18% of total sales. Yes there was a massive pipeline fill that occurred in March and April this year, yet sales have continued since then. The mistake the company made was that they assumed the same spikes in sales would have occurred in the November 11/11 sales day as last year, which from most figures shown their sales were up on last year, however in my opinion there was that much stock held in warehouses in Aus and China that the stores were never replenished to the forecasted volumes expected.
The good news is that year on year, rolling MAT 15 vs 16, sales for 2016 are up more than 70% and average sales post April 2016 are still stronger than previous year. My prediction is that the full year numbers for 2017 will stronger than 2016 but just wont be on the same growth level expected.
Why it is taking the company so long to respond is beyond me but BAL is a great Australian company that has just made some very amateur mistakes. So I leave you with a simple Merry Xmas to all holders as those that are in this one for the long haul, remain patient as you will reap the rewards in the end, BAL is here to stay and will become one of Australia's greatest local companies.
