Battery chemistries have already changed. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) is taking more market share than ever. They don't contain nickel or cobalt. Tesla and BYD, the two biggest in the world, are backing LFP batteries.
We also have new battery chemistries with more manganese and less nickel. SRL isn't crashing only because of idle stagnating management, chemical companies are moving on from nickel.
I was 100% wrong abut LFP and Indonesian nickel. I'll cop a significant loss on the way out the door. There's always the possibility BHP or another big player lobs a low ball offer in for the asset.
