HF acid use is entirely separate of graphite mining or graphite concentrate production.
Chinese companies in particular utilise HF acid purification in the production of purified spherical graphite (SPG) from mined concentrate. BEM partner Urbix have developed an environmentally friendly purification flow sheet, much like EGR.
