well, that's no different to what Vietnam was - exactly the same

but, Aussies did ok in Vietnam. There were not regular or notable atrocities committed by Aussies.

The North Vietnamese and Viet Cong sure wanted to kill Aussies - indeed, they had a big plan called Long Tan for that one -

ok, they won the war, but they sure lost Long Tan - and Aussies gained the respect for that - they were never attacked again like that.

But, Aussies were never, as far as I know, involved in things like the yanks did in My Lai (and many others like My Lai)

Aussies were pretty smart there - even though they were sent there for all the wrong reasons.

There's absolutely no need to commit atrocities like we are hearing about ---------------- AND all it's done is to bring us enemies and disgrace


One can visit Vietnam now and be welcomed with open arms -------------- try that one in Afghanistan or Iraq and see how we go
