dave, it's a view I've constantly reiterated especially in regards to Indonesia. At a time when many Aussies felt that they were being threatened, anyone with any knowledge of domestic politics there could see the local scenarios being played out with Australia only being a convenient inclusion as and when required. That doesn't lessen the tragedy it was, but it was only us that put ourselves as a central figure rather than just being extras added for dramatic effect.
