There are many people even voting for the Libs who also believe in same sex marriage (e.g. Turnbull). People who are gay should have the same right to be as unhappily married as the rest of us. Why discriminate on the basis of sex? If 2 people of the same sex love each other and want to spend their lifetime together, I see no reason why shouldn't be allowed to get married. It should be a conscience vote and I reckon it could get up next time. Even Palmer (PUP) is talking about granting his candidates a conscience vote (should they get in). On the subject of same sex marriage didn't Rudd vote against it last time they had a vote?
