Whatever happens to AVZ means nothing to AGY except maybe that those AVZ funds will start flooding into AGY and everyone will see why when ML started tweeting about the two companies, his price target for AGY was almost double that of AVZ. Just so happened there was huge hype around AVZ and he just went with it, who wouldn't when you hold a shitload of options!
