If you believe he will be a success in rugby union, then it will be a blow to the NRL.
I do agree with you that his talents have waned. I saw some highlights of him earlier in his career and he is definitely not the same player he used to be.
The issue of him looking at rugby is all because Wests Tigers won't extend his contract past 2015. Obviously there are some internal issues with Marshall. The Tigers obviously see him as a risk beyond 2015 and rightly so with his form at present and the fact that the Tigers have a great crop of kids coming through after being premiers in the under 20's last year.
I think if Marshall goes, it will just be an embarrassing loss for the NRL. As we both agree that he will be a success in rugby, it is just another kick in the guts for league.
As a leaguie, I would prefer to see him go to another NRL club, perhaps the Warriors. However, with his wife's work, that would be unlikely.
I am getting the feeling the public BM, is a bit different to the private BM. As i said, he had a huge fallout with Sheens and Potter has had problems too. Maybe, for Marshall's sake he needs a change of scenery. I just would like it to be with another NRL club.
