MFS PUZZLE

The former MFS (aka Octaviar) chief financial officer - whose private company collected about $1 million in consulting fees helping former liquidators Deloitte sift through the wreckage of the collapsed Gold Coast financial company - has been hit by a claim by liquidators who took over in September 2009.

Bentleys Corporate Recovery is seeking to recover about $80 million in payments made by Octaviar before it was wound up, including payments to the group's former bean counter David Anderson. The liquidator wants the funds to go back into the general pool it plans to distribute to creditors of the group once chaired by the former Liberal leader Andrew Peacock.

Bentleys recently filed a claim in the NSW Supreme Court seeking $540,657 from Anderson's business, Business Puzzle Solutions. It is also claiming a further $210,525 from Anderson personally.
