    "A taskforce examining the government's problem-plagued Building the Education Revolution (BER) scheme has found the program inflated building costs by up to 12 per cent.

    The interim report says the overall BER versus pre-BER cost differential, for each education authority, is in the range of 0 per cent to 12 per cent."

    Above is a quote from the Sydney Morning Herald website, sighting the BER Report. The Coalition have argued consistently that the scale of waste was a lot higher than this. Barnaby Joyce at one time implied that the government was getting $5 Billion value for $16 Billion, while Mr Abbott has repeatedly said that about 50% ($8 billion) was wasted. According to the report the amount of waste is below $2 billion.
