Bernadi's push is a sympton

Bernadi witnessed first hand the mass movement sweeping the Western world.

If he splits then that will indicate that he expects a similar movement here because the LNP, as it is, offers very few answers to pressing problems.

Aus though hasn't experienced the deprivations that have afflicted most other Western nations and hence our voters may not be as motivated as those in other countries.

A side issue is that Bernadi's emails seem to have dried up. This may mean that he is losing the urge to split.
