According to the article you posted. LIS is already past 1100 cycles and still going as far as I know. What most articles about batteries don't disclose is charge/discharge really means. With the LIS battery it's a full charge-discharge. If you scroll up you can see the post by @copperroad (dated 8th Dec '21) which details how the LIS battery is progressing.
Don't get me wrong, the kevlar idea may turn out to be good for all I know. However, it sounds like it's still very early days.
