She could try Pro Realtime. Its free, has daily data, and some very good charting features, including stock scanners, the ability to create and modify your own formulae, etc.

I use it, alongside Amibroker and a data subscription from Premium Data.. the only deficiency I've found is in prorealtime's handling, or lack thereof, of share consolidations/splits. However that only affects a very few stocks on the ASX, and for general purposes PRT's very good.
