I know I'm a voice in the wilderness, but I like SBM.

Then again (and this is really marking me out for possible derision) I liked ALD. I thought it had potential but was probably not that well managed and was really only viable in a high gold price environment (I'd done a lot of modelling based on >US1600).

So the risk vs outcome of the ALD assets balances the original SBM assets for me nicely. OK it's not as obvious as the SLR takeover (and the market has said so) but I like it.

This is a case where the mantra for so many takeovers/ mergers- that the new management have more of a clue- may well be true.

Oh, and technically it looks like they're breaking up now (then again I suppose isn't every goldie?)
