Sirius Resources NL (ASX:SIR) (“Sirius” or the “Company”) advises that
drilling overnight has intersected the widest zone of sulphide
mineralisation yet encountered at its Nova nickel-copper deposit.
The intersection is in hole SFRD0055, which is the second hole drilled on
the 650N line, some 50 metres north and 75 metres down plunge from
the thick intersections previously announced on the 600N line and a
similar distance south and up plunge of the drilling in progress on the
700N line.
The intersection is as follows:
? 14.3 metres of weakly disseminated sulphide from 278
metres, followed by;
? 38.6 metres of strongly disseminated sulphide from 292.3
metres, followed by;
? 23.7 metres of net textured to matrix sulphide from 330.9
metres, followed by;
? 11.9 metres of massive sulphide from 354.6 metres.
This is considered to represent an approximate true width of 74 metres
of mineralisation, excluding the 14 metres of weakly disseminated
sulphide in the hanging wall. It is approximately 60 metres down dip
from the mineralisation intersected in the first hole on this line,
SFRD0056, announced on Monday 24
th
September.
The location of this intersection is shown in Figure 1 and the core is
shown in Figure 2.
Drilling is continuing on the 700N and 800N lines, the induced
polarisation (IP) survey is also continuing across the Eye, and the assays
for two key holes (SFRD0039 and SFRD0041) representing two of the
thick sulphide intercepts obtained on the 600N line remain on schedule
for late this week/early next week.
