Hi there Butch,
If you use Comsec as your broker, when adjusting/amending an order your orginal order stays put in the cue, though what ever you adjust gets placed last in the cue.
For eg: Lets take AFT... You have a buy order in at 0.001 for 10M shares.
0.001 Bid is made up of...
1st = 545,600
2nd = 200,000
3rd = 100,000
4th = 10,000,000 (your order)
5th = 1,000,000
6th = 700,000
you get the drift....
now you wish to amend your order to 12M shares... the new order would look like this ...
0.001 Bid is made up of...
1st = 545,600
2nd = 200,000
3rd = 100,000
4th = 10,000,000 (your order)
5th = 1,000,000
6th = 700,000
7th = 2,000,000 (your 2nd order amended)
Now if you were to amend your 10M shares down to 5M, your order will still stay in the same position just with the lesser amount of shares.
0.001 Bid is made up of...
1st = 545,600
2nd = 200,000
3rd = 100,000
4th = 5,000,000 (your order)
5th = 1,000,000
6th = 700,000
Please note, as i stated this is only what i've found through Comsec, if you have another broker you go through it could be different.
Cheers Mark
