Hedging is undertaken as cash flow protection, risk management or insurance. It is not designed for profit optimisation.
l am also grossly overweight NST and given all the risks presently visible in this world, do not mind a component of future production underpinned by guaranteed profits from forward sales.
SVB could have done with some of this, no?
I am no longer a buyer at current high price, but happy to hold for the next part of the cycle.
