I'm hopeful Xi will exit stage left and there will be a rapprochement with the West and the US, because nobody wants war. Even Putin is looking weary.

James Rickards makes a cogent case for gold backed currency and he says it can be fractional. See his book Currency Wars. Not that I agree with everything Rickards says, but he has good points to make at times. Doesn't Sheldon back a form of crypto currency, as does Bessent? Hard to keep up with the state of play it's all over the place.
