The Greens want to reduce the threshold amount to $2 million for the new tax to apply. I think they're going to make it harder and harder to get the pension. This is inevitable by sheer force of numbers. Also Australian retirees and people escaping to destinations like Bali, Thailand, Phillipines, Spain, Italy, France, are gong to be caught by new and more strict requirements that they are financially self sufficient. Plus there is going to be currency volatility and it's already hitting. The only sure thing is to have a solid investment approach and stick to it. Like a few solid gold miners like NST. If we get hyperinflation, those thresholds are going to be the equivalent of bracket creep. JIMO
