I think I would have liked Lee Kuan Yew, but I suspect the majority of voters would not.
I subscribe to the adage that we get the governments we deserve. The western world has allowed its governments to become the bloated, indebted abominations that they are because the majority of us feel better off that way, rather than taking responsibility and providing for ourselves and our families.
I personally favour Milton Friedman’s idea of having a very limited government with low taxation, than the idea of living in a welfare state with high taxation.
