I'm pretty sure WA and Albanese are on the same page on this issue. There are ways of containing and treating waste and we've got a lot of land area to do it in. The problem right now is the US is run by whoever has the ear of Trump at the time. There is no consistency and we can't rely on his word, or even written agreement, on anything. It was previously that Biden enacted the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) with lots of provision for non carbon technology, EVs etc and then the green elements said 'we don't want any developments in the US' so they switched to just battery technology and throwing up their hands in despair. It's been a weird ride. I hope Albanese and the WA guy Roger Cook can salvage something out of this because Australia has the capacity to be huge in this space and in lithium. I think they know they need a substitute for the Iron Ore bonanza that is essentially over so hopefully they can cook something up between them. Sorry to hear that about the plant. Surely the Greens are waking up just a bit? Native title has come a long way too. Good luck to us all. Glad I'm not in the US.
