I've voiced my concerns to Commsec too but I doubt anything will come of it. All good things must come to an end. I'm sure you will manage.
A young Exised was a Barclay's Commodities Operator a very long time ago. You can take a man out of Banking, you can't take the Banking out of the man.Not a fan of leverage. I'm proud to say I haven't held a margin account since the GFC. A lesson learnt the hard way...
A bit of a funny reaction by broader stock market with the escalation of the recent conflict. Post #:79462870 Previous global money markets should have reacted with money flowing out of global stock markets and into the ultimate safe haven, US government bonds. Demand for US bonds sends bond prices sharply higher, yields lower and dramatic lift in the greenback. After all you need US dollars before you can buy US government bonds.
The selloff is there (feeling it in NST) and predictably, oil prices soared on the prospect of supply disruptions. The second part, nothing of the sort so far.. US bonds market barely blinked.
The US dollar, which has shed almost 10 per cent this year, rose by just a smidgen.
NST and other goldminers are feeling the selloff. It is a stock after all, not gold. I've reiterated this difference many times over. NST and goldminers should bounce relative to their quarterlies next month.
Silver lining here is... If you are in need of an illustration that America's reputation as the global reserve currency and the leader of free market capitalism has been tarnished, this is it.
