Seems to be a problem across the board as the global economy continues to turn to crap, people like you are forced to sell out to fund other needs in life, whether it is the mortgage, medical issue, even everyday bills and groceries. It is a difficult time for many and the liquidity and volume isn't what it used to be on the ASX that is for sure, especially the appetite for gold stocks. With this lower volume, the big fish and insto's are able to manipulate the price a lot more and use the current environment as a fear tactic to force and trick retail to sell out or for their stop losses to get triggered. A very sad state of affairs and as usual the rich always get a lot richer.
The positive is that this tide will eventually shift when the real standard of the economy starts to hit the mainstream and more people start to invest in all things safety, such as precious metals, including gold stocks, particularly producers making a killing. Eventually gold prices will be well supported mid-to high 2000 usd. With current exchange rates, the gold prices are looking even more spectacular in aud prices. This could be one of the final manipulation periods for the insto's to stack up their holdings before we set sail for a massive re rate. All that money in the falling Li sector space has to go somewhere too. Interesting 6-12 months coming up but unless you have a critical reason to sell, I wouldn't be going anywhere near the sell button imo. Good luck and DYOR.
