This slide comes from ASL (Andean Silver) and shows there are no almost no producers with a grade below 200g/t Ag (ASL has a grade of about 430 g/t Ag). On another SS1 thread I asked for someone to explain to me why I should buy SS1 shares given its low grade - one response told me I was lying but the facts speak for themselves - the grade is only 0.77g/t gold and Maverick Springs is only 0.46 g/t gold. 1g/t open gold mine is about the lowest one can be to make a profit and then some do not make it unless it is a massive porphyry like Cadia and SS1 is not anywhere close to that size.
An example of a very big resource but low grade, is a previous market darling CHN which had in the past a MC of about $3b - the SS clearly showed it was not economical to mine the deposit. The SP is now down circa 90%. Plenty of examples of low grade mines going bust including CAI and GCY in recent times.
So instead of insulting responses with no substance can someone please explain why the SS1's low grade deposit is so special that it will become a mine making a profit. I have been watching SS1 since listing and cannot come up with an explanation why I should buy its shares.
