Saw this a while ago. The Chinese often beat others to the market with products that are either inferior or just plain don't work.. or hell, perhaps don't even exist at all. It's so commonplace, especially in their domestic market with products that are never exported or even heard of in the west.

Big claims, quick cash, speedy get-away. It's so easy to get away with over there compared to the west. That, and people don't seem to think law breaking and jailtime is sufficient deterrent to making a quick fortune through deception.

In summary, I wouldn't read into it too much unless you saw something exported or tested independently outside of China.
