Don't paint all of Africa with the same brush. It is made up of a number of countries, each with its own sovereign risk. Some countries are stable and understand mining offers opportunities. Some are very poor. Some are war torn.

Often, the images that spring to mind when someone says Africa, are documentaries showing misery. This is not the case across the whole nation.
