I know you are and also know who you are and where you are and I wish I could write out a cheque for the lot of you, believe me. You are close to another topical discussion that occurred not long ago, WCB, and we all watched that get politically sacrificed to placate the nerves after the ADM / Graincorp rejection.

I don't question that MG-Devondale needed to change but what was done and the way it was done was not the best, David Williams made comment not long ago and I agree pretty much with most of what he said. One option is to merge with Bega Cheese (ASX: BGA in case some readers dont know Bega) but that would be a lumpy trip through the ACCC minefield and the only other viable option, as I see it, is to swing completely over to an ASX listed entity given that that process has already been started.

Investors are trained, or should be or at least should seek professional advice, in regards their investments whether it be MGC or any other investment vehicle so they can carry some of the risk of redressing this debacle through a reduced yield on their investments, farmers on the other hand depend on the FGMP to exist and I have never liked the claw back mentality no matter how "little bit fancy" it is dressed up with farm supply subsidies or discounts, deferred loans, early payments etc.

Tell me another agri-sector in this country where there is this ability to force farmers to return payouts for produce? What a dairy processor does with that raw input (milk) and how it increases the value through all sorts of processing, productising, packaging, marketing and or pricing and generates revenue has nothing to with the farmer supplying the milk so why are dairy farmers held accountable for the business decisions of a downstream party? Beats me.
