First pub band I saw was Mentals in 1979 at the Civic Hotel in Sydney. Think it was a $2.50 covercharge but you got a ticket for a plate of sloppy almost inedible spag bol with entry.

Other good pub bands...Hoodoo Gurus (at Selina's Coogee Bay), Midnight Oil (at Baulham Hills? RSL), Sunny Boys at Manly Vale, the Church at Roundhouse NSW uni, Radiators at Jindabyne hotel, Lime Spiders, Hoodoo Gurus and quite a few others at the Blue Gum, Waitara.
