    1) obviously do some reseach, you be a knuckle head if you didn't.

    2) keep it simple, by that i mean don't overload the brain with needless information.

    3) select stocks which are hot property, again definition "gold has been hot"

    4) i select a watchlist before the opening with no more than 10 stocks, most of the time it's only 5 stocks.

(using live data feed ie: Power E*Trade) i'll usually have a depth window open for the 5 stocks so that i can watch any changes in buy/sell sides.

    5) give yourself plenty of time before the markets open, that way you can sort of get into the groove. i actually get up around 4.30am, but really get into the groove around 1 hour before the market opens.

    6) probably the best advice i can give you.

    1) around the time the market opens switch off any distractions. your focus should be soley on the market.

    2) you should really avoid red days for daytrading, your chances of success fall dramatically.

    3) Newbies stay well away.

here's my "early" list for Monday.

AAR, CUU, CHM, KGL, NAD, PDY, QUR, VOR

i should have written a book and sold my daytrading secrets..LOL
