Just spit balling, is it possible a scenario such as someone like vanguard offering a short based ETF for tech stocks in the ASX 300 having to re balance because we fell out of that index?

Im not suggesting something as specific as that, but could there be a similar kind of scenario that caused the shorts to drop?

There's also been great buying support considering a shaky US market last few nights as well. So i think you are right something is brewing, i cant imagine what it is though. I would think only US market opportunity can get this baby fired up again, but its been prettttttty quiet on that front.
