Australian soldiers are placed on pedestals but that is fantasy land to think they are all war heroes.
Just as in any big organisation there are a few dickheads and bad eggs.

Sure the SAS had a lot of rotations and being in that environment for a long time will mess with some people's minds.

But remember they got lots of support. They come back from patrol they have some modern comforts and can relax on base. Army chefs cooking good food. Secure and comfortable sleeping. Communication access with family at home. Access to movies and computers


Modern armies and their deployments now are very different from the old days.
