How come - per ASIC reporting
Lynas shorts
Date No. shares %
Oct 12th 139123565 8.1
Oct 11th 194791957 11.35
Oct 10th 233525130 13.61
So, in 2 trading days, shorts have covered 94million shares, or 5.6% of total capital.
However, total trading volume reported on these 2 days was:
Oct 11 53.3M
Oct 12 16.1M
TOTAL 69.4M
So, total trading volume was 69.4million, but short sellers managed to offload 94million.
I know the accuracy is not 100% and my knowledge and expertise in this area requires augmenting - hence the legitimate request for a response.
This does not add up in my brain.
Please can someone clarify?
