Has anyone found any statistics on fracking success rates?
By 'fracking success rates' I mean - what percentage of wells are successfully fracked and turned into functioning wells?
I'm not concerned with how many times it takes to frack an individual well until it works. As long as the well was eventually fracked successfully then that is a 100% success.
What I want to know is - how often do frack companies just give up and walk away as the well simply won't frack effectively?
All I can find after googling, and googling some more is that 're-fracks' have a 80-90% chance of success. I am not sure if you can relate fracks to 're-fracks' which is where I understand a fracking company comes back in after flow rates have dropped off and frack it again.
The other thing I read was about one company who fracked 60 wells and 100% of them were fracked successfully.
Maybe I need to email a few fracking companies to get an idea of their success rates.
