No capital investment is required for pathology just a fridge, where as with radiology you need a CT, an Xray, and OPG and a couple of ultrasounds. Sonic does not have radiology in their medical centres like healius, they refer to their standalone Queensland Xray or Castlereagh Imaging a few buildings down the road, it is a better business model. Healius medical centre radiology get zip nothing from outside referrers because what doctor will send their patients to another GP medical centre for X-rays.
