I think raising the tax free threshold which benefits everyone is a good idea but the other changes are not good for most people.
Swan said last week Labor would be announcing tax cuts during the campaign so I would expect something similar but I hope it will be just raising the threshold.
One has to ask why the government has not already made their promised tax changes, though the answer is simple they needed an election sweetener.
In either case big tax cuts will have an inflationary effect and are likely to be offset by increases in the cost of living leaving everyone about where they are now economically.
