Yes unfortunately there will always be people affected, put out or unhappy about some form of mining or another and I get it. I wouldn't want a mine in my backyard, but I think tge Salamanca area is despite need for jobs (weather or not they are qualified enough to obtain them is another question) and a kick start to their local economy.

In one of the articles the argument was that we shouldn't be trying to start a mine at historical lows re spot pfice. Clearly the journalists/ protesters are not educated in the world's reliance on uranium as a base load energy and unquestionable rise that will occur at some point in the coming years. Hence we are contracting at $43 odd vs spot of $23.50 or so.

Time will tell how it all plays out...
